bushmead road, bedford
this 1930's arts and crafts style house is located on one of Bedford's prime residential streets.
The project consisted of a considerable 2 storey extension at the rear with internal re-configurations and a loft conversion.
The rear section of the ground floor has been re-configured to create an open plan family living area, whilst retaining the original room configuration at the front of the house. The under-utilised utility spaces have been re-organised to create functional utility space and a ground floor gym area. On the upper floors there are 5 bedrooms. A large master suite with dressing and ensuite along with 2 further ensuite rooms and a large family bathroom.
Externally, the extension ties in with the existing arts and crafts architecture. The roof and walls have been refurbished, and new metal framed windows ensure the house continues to look as elegant as it has done.
